The curricula for these programs use the newest and creative materials available. The programs are taught by TESL Canada-certified, highly qualified and experienced teachers.
Our ESL Programs include Four Skills ESL, English Speaking Skills, Business Concepts, EAP(English for Academic Purposes). We also provide special programs, such as ESL & Music, and Group & Youth Programs.
English As a Second Language
The target of VIA’s ESL programs is to assist students become comfortable communicating in English. We want our graduates to feel as at home using English as their native language. This level of skill gives VIA graduates confidence and abilities they can use to further their academic and professional careers and achieve their life goals. The four skills, pronunciation, grammar, and a focus on speaking in the afternoons provide students with a rich and engaging ESL experience.

Business Concepts
Buy low, sell high, market share, kidfluence, and ROI are just some of the terms and phrases that are discussed in VIA Business Concepts. VIA Business takes key and core business, financial, and trade ideas and explains them in an ESL context. It’s one thing to talk about business. It’s another to know what you are talking about and being able to explain that in a different language. The Business Program professionals at VIA can take your business skills to new heights and international-grade competencies. In a global economy, VIA Business Concepts prepares it’s graduates for these exciting times of international trade and travel.

EAP (English for Academic Purposes)
VIA teaches two English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programs, CAEL and IELTS. CAEL is the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment, which is accepted by universities and colleges across Canada. This test is increasing in popularity, due to its accessibility and topic-based design. VIA is the CAEL Assessment centre on Vancouver Island.
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, and this is widely accepted around the world for various purposes. Universities and colleges accept the academic test, and many countries use the general English test for immigration purposes.

Group & Youth Program
VIA Group and Youth Programs provide young students the opportunity to experience a new culture and learn English in an exciting combination of ESL and activities. The chance to travel and meet people from other countries and backgrounds gives them invaluable opportunities to understand other cultures and grow personally. As these students become older, they will cherish these memories and experiences, and give them academic advantages both now and as they get older.
