VIA provides two types of ESL Programs in 5 different levels.
Four Skills
This program covers reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It also includes grammar and phrasal verbs. This class is offered in the morning and is a foundation class for all other programs at VIA, including Business English and test preparation classes.
Speaking Skills
This program is focused on Speaking Skills and the application of vocabulary and grammar learned in the morning ESL classes (Four Skills). Conversation and specific speaking skills, such as presentations, leading discussions, and debates are among the skills taught in this class.
English at your level
There are five levels of our ESL programs: Beginner, Elementry, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced. The course level you will take will be based on a Placement Test. The placement test is given to students on their first day of class. Students are placed in a class based on their placement test scores. An Achievement Test is given every 6 weeks. Students can see their progress and move to a more difficult class level if their achievement test score is high enough.
ESL Program Fees
$125 Registration Fee + Weekly Program Fee + Weekly Material Fees
There is a $125 registration fee and a material fee of $12 per week for Full Time programs and $10 per week for Part Time programs. Material feeds cover all handouts given in the classroom. You will be given a textbook if you are registered for more than 4 weeks. There is no maximum material fee.
Weekly Program Fees
Full-time programs are 25 hours per week with one hour of homework per day. Total is 30 hours of language study a week. Classes run year round, 48 weeks a year.
